Calcio: Partner FIFA ufficiale, Arsenal FC, AC Milan, Paris St Germain FC, Hamburger SV;
Rugby: Commissione arbitri IRB, IRB Sevens World Series, Rugby Sevens World Cup 2009, Emirates Western Force;
Golf: Compagnia aerea ufficiale di Dubai Desert Classic, BMW International Open, Korean Open, BMW Asian Open, Malaysian Open , Africa Open, Hong Kong Open, Austrian Open, Volvo Asian Masters, Hero Honda Open, Australian PGA Championship e Dubai Ladies Masters;
Cricket: Partner ufficiale dell’International Cricket Council, sponsor dell’Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and Referees, sponsor di Cricket Australia;
Ippica: Dubai World Cup, Emirates Melbourne Cup, Champion Stakes (Newmarket), Emirates Singapore Derby, partner dell’Australian Jockey Club, Breeders’ Cup, sponsor del Godolphin Stable;
Football australiano: Collingwood;
Tennis: Dubai Tennis Championships, Rogers Cup (Canada).

On 25th October 1985, Emirates flew its first routes out of Dubai with just two aircraft—a leased Boeing 737 and Airbus 300 B4 - and it has since been characterised by two key features: continuous explosive growth and a constant focus on top quality service.

Emirates’ current order-book stands at 242 aircraft, with a total value of approximately US$60 billion. In combination with what is already the youngest and one of the most modern fleets in worldwide commercial aviation, this commitment to the future reflects Emirates’ goal to develop Dubai into a comprehensive, global, long-haul aviation hub. In the financial year 2006/2007, Emirates carried 17.5 million passengers.

One of the key factors in Emirates’ global visibility and success has been its involvement in world-class sports. Emirates currently sponsors the following teams and events:

• Football: Official FIFA partner, Arsenal FC, AC Milan, Paris St Germain FC, Hamburger SV
• Rugby: IRB Referees, IRB Sevens World Series, Rugby Sevens World Cup 2009, Emirates Western Force
• Golf: Official Airline of Dubai Desert Classic, BMW International Open, the Korean Open, BMW Asian Open, Malaysian Open , Africa Open, The Hong Kong Open , The Austrian Open, Volvo Asian Masters, Hero Honda Open, Australian PGA Championship and the Dubai Ladies Masters.
• Cricket: Official Partner of the International Cricket Council, sponsor of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and Referees Cricket Australia
• Horse Racing: Dubai World Cup, Emirates Melbourne Cup, Champion Stakes (Newmarket), Emirates Singapore Derby, Partner of the Australian Jockey Club, Breeders’ Cup, sponsor of the Godolphin Stable
• Australian Rules Football: Collingwood
• Tennis: Dubai Tennis Championships, Rogers Cup (Canada)
Emirates currently operates services to 99 destinations in 62 countries around the world and the network is expanding constantly. Current peak destinations from the UK include:

• Australia (Perth, Sydney)
• New Zealand (Auckland)
• Far East (Bangkok)
• Africa (Johannesburg)
• India or China (Mumbai, Shanghai)

Out of the UK, Emirates flies from all the major airports, including London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle and Manchester.
